Our expanding Singapore team brings trading, research and engineering closer to the region’s digital asset builders.

Built around a global market

Digital asset markets operate continuously, but strong working relationships still benefit from proximity. The expansion of our Singapore team reflects a straightforward priority: bring more of our trading, research and engineering expertise closer to counterparties and builders across the region. It is an investment in how we work, as well as where we work.

Since WELD was founded in 2019, we have developed as a connected team across time zones. London, Singapore and Dubai each contribute a distinct view of the market. Increasing our presence in Singapore strengthens that network and creates more opportunities for direct collaboration with the people building important parts of the ecosystem.

Trading and research, side by side

The expanded team brings quantitative traders, DeFi researchers and infrastructure engineers into closer daily contact. That combination matters because market questions rarely belong to one discipline. A trading observation may point to a data problem, a protocol design choice or an operational constraint. A shared working environment helps those connections surface earlier.

Our Singapore colleagues will continue to work on global systems and strategies. The aim is not to create a separate regional platform, but to strengthen the same standards of execution, risk oversight and technical reliability across the firm. Shared tools and clear ownership remain central to that approach.

Closer to the builders

The region is home to teams exploring practical questions about payments, settlement, onchain finance and institutional access. We want to participate in those conversations through useful work: technical feedback, research discussions, trading relationships and carefully selected investment partnerships. Physical presence makes it easier to build the trust that supports that work.

Over the coming months, our team will host smaller discussions focused on specific problems rather than broad predictions. Topics will include liquidity programme design, institutional settlement workflows and the infrastructure needed to support reliable onchain markets. We value settings where participants can compare experience and examine the details.

Growing with purpose

Expansion creates an opportunity to add skills, but it also requires care. We are recruiting people who enjoy precise thinking, practical collaboration and responsibility for outcomes. Experience matters; so does the willingness to understand how a decision affects colleagues working in another part of the system.

Our ambition remains consistent: connect capital, technology and market expertise in ways that make digital markets work better. The Singapore expansion gives us a stronger base from which to pursue that work. We look forward to meeting more counterparties, researchers and founders in the region, and to building relationships with the patience and attention they deserve.
